With peak holiday crowds this upcoming weekend for Fourth of July events and parties, managing the entrance and line design for each attraction is critical. Here are our top tips for the week leading up to your event to ensure everything runs smoothly:
Lock Down Attraction Logistics & Power
- The Power Grid Load: High-capacity attractions, inflatables, stage lighting, and sound systems draw massive amounts of electricity. Double-check that heavy-draw gear is distributed across separate circuits or designated generators to prevent a mid-event trip. Confirm with your vendors whether they will supply power or if you are responsible for supplying it. We also have gas generators available.
- Map Layout: If you have a map layout of the event grounds or power sources, please share it with your Sales Rep prior to the event to ensure seamless placement and setup.
- Vendor & Tech Standbys: Confirm schedules for your on-site ride operators, technicians, and safety inspectors. Ensure you have direct cell phone numbers for all key maintenance staff on duty for the holiday week. Record-A-Hit will send email confirmations 3-5 days out from your event with our team’s logistical information.
Guest Comfort & Weather Contingencies
July heat can take a toll on guests waiting in line.
- Shade and Hydration: Ensure queue areas have as much shade as possible (tents, umbrellas, or canopy structures) and place dedicated water stations near the longest lines.
- The Weather Pivot: Have an absolute cutoff time for when you will temporarily pause outdoor attractions or pivot entertainment indoors in the event of sudden summer thunderstorms or high winds. Please review our Weather Policies and reach out to your Sales Rep if you have any questions.
- Cooling Elements: In the case of extreme heat, you might want to consider adding some of our Rain Rooms/Misting Tents to your event!
Atmosphere & Throughput Automation
Keep the energy high and the lines moving efficiently. Pre-program any background audio or ambient lighting for the attraction zones so staff can focus 100% on guest safety and ride operation. Ensure ride rotation cycles are optimized and staff are trained to load and unload guests efficiently to keep wait times down.
